Project Description

A complete experience refresh aligned to Center for Yoga’s mission, values, and community‑run story. We rebuilt the site architecture around clear CTAs (membership, class packages, trainings) and a schedule‑first UX, integrated the Momence platform for seamless booking, and implemented technical + local SEO to help new students discover classes across priority ZIP codes and neighborhoods in Greater LA.

Goals

  • Make it effortless to buy a membership, class package, or training and schedule classes (strong, clear calls‑to‑action).

  • Grow monthly memberships (target product: monthly at $170) and online sales

  • Improve local discoverability for queries like “yoga near me,” “infrared hot yoga,” “teacher training near me,” and related terms in core ZIP codes.

  • Preserve and spotlight the studio’s heritage and teachers as key differentiators while moving toward a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

  • Build analytics to understand the market and inform future targeted marketing and retention efforts.

Situation

Despite a storied legacy and a loyal community, most new students still came from word‑of‑mouth, and the team wanted a website that better reflected the studio’s inclusive, non‑dogmatic approach without the visual heaviness of the previous orange‑forward styling. They requested a more minimal, neutral palette (sages, blacks, whites), clean lines, and imagery that feels professional and all‑inclusive. Booking flows and calls‑to‑action needed to be prominent, simple, and trustworthy.

What was holding them back

  • Heavy reliance on word‑of‑mouth acquisition.

  • Unclear ideal audience and need for market understanding post‑launch.

  • A site that needed a general facelift and clearer booking pathways.

  • Complicated backend and communication challenges, limiting iteration.

  • Visual direction needed to shift to clean, contemporary, inclusive aesthetics; avoid poor yoga form in imagery.

Strategy & Execution

Our strategy centered on making scheduling and membership purchase the easiest actions on the site, while amplifying the studio’s heritage (est. 1968) and teacher excellence, the two pillars that set CFY apart. We paired a streamlined IA and modern UI with SEO and Local SEO designed for neighborhood‑level discovery, then instrumented analytics for conversion tracking and retention insights.

Solution Details

  • Schedule‑First UX & CTA System

    • Prominent, persistent CTAs tailored to Memberships, Class Packages, and Teacher Trainings across the site.

    • Shortened paths from landing page to booking (Momence), with microcopy that reduces friction and sets expectations (e.g., livestream access, grace periods).

  • Information Architecture for Growth

    • Structured navigation for In‑Studio, Online, and Workshops & Events; expanded Teacher Training section (200‑hr, 300‑hr, specialty programs).

    • Built out core class‑type pages (Infrared Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Yin, Pilates, Yoga Tune Up, Prenatal, etc.) to rank for service‑intent queries and help newcomers choose.

  • Local SEO & Neighborhood Targeting

    • Content and on‑page signals aligned to Larchmont/Greater LA neighborhoods and priority ZIPs (90004, 90038, 90046, 90048), supporting “yoga near me” discovery.

  • Brand & Visual System

    • Evolved from orange‑heavy toward neutral, modern tones (sages/blacks/whites) with clean lines and inclusive imagery; explicit guardrails to avoid poor form photos.

    • Preserved the studio’s empathetic/supportive brand voice; spotlighted teachers and community.

  • Technical SEO & Performance

    • Crawlability, metadata, internal linking, and structured content for classes/trainings; performance optimizations and best‑practice foundations.

  • Measurement & Insights

    • Event tracking for membership, packages, trainings; funnels to understand drop‑off and inform retention experiments. Goals included growing monthly members and class sales.

  • Platform Integration

    • Momence integration for scheduling, livestream access, and mail marketing cohesion.

Results Summary

With the schedule‑first redesign and stronger CTAs, the site now shortens the path from discovery to booking, supports clear membership decisions, and provides the measurement needed to grow monthly members and trainings over time. The studio’s heritage (est. 1968) and teacher excellence are now front‑and‑center, while local SEO foundations position CFY to compete on neighborhood intent like “yoga near me,” “infrared hot yoga,” and “teacher training near me” across target ZIP codes. (Quantitative lift to be appended once post‑launch analytics are compiled.)
